Program start
Once installed, course icons are placed on the desktop. Opening sequence
introduces subject material followed by name of program licencee or logo then
registration. Registrants are then given an overview of program functions, quiz
sessions, remediation and scoring procedures. Registrants may exit the course
at any time except during quiz sessions then sign on at a later date to continue
from the exit point.
Content & display
Course information is divided into several sections. Each section contains a
number of pages followed, in most cases, by a short quiz. Previous pages or
completed sections may be reviewed at any time except during quiz sessions.
Page information is normally presented incrementally, pausing after an important
statement or paragraph. Clicking the "Next" button continues filling the page.
Quizzes, remediation &scoring
Trainees must maintain an 80% average during section quizzes in order to reach
the final quiz. During section quiz sessions a correct choice, on the first try only,
counts as a correct answer. An incorrect answer returns the student to the
screen(s) containing the correct information. The student is then returned to
the question for another try. Students must answer each question correctly to
move forward through the course. A count is kept of each incorrect response.
Responding incorrectly to the same question again counts as an additional
incorrect answer. Accumulating too many incorrect responses automatically returns the student to the beginning of the course to start over with a clean
sheet. Students must successfully complete the instructional portion of the program before receiving the final quiz. An 80 % minimum score is required
during the final quiz. The final quiz score is the only score recorded.
Reports (trainee records)
Program administrators have password protected access to all trainee records.
Individual reports may be generated as well group reports based on department
and/or branch. All reports may be printed or exported to a Word document.
